Everything starts somewhere!

Everything starts somewhere!

You started your life as someone, somewhere.

You started a career in something, somehow.

You started your business at some time, in some way.

And my newsletter started today…

The moment I started to comprehend my environment as a kid, all I saw were oil paintings on my house walls and books about drawing and colors.

I believed this is life. I should learn how to draw and paint.

So, my first drawing was something that looked like a donkey, with chalk on our green outdoor fuel container.

I cried because it was ugly and distorted, until my grandfather fixed it.

And so, I became an oil painter and opened my art gallery in the early 2000s.

As a teenager, my Danish aunt, a pianist and guitar player, visited Lebanon and taught me to strum my first guitar chords. She said, “Sing while you play.”

And I became a singer later on.

My hobbies as an artist became obsolete; that’s when I opened an accessories shop for women.

Then, after my accessories shop sales dropped, I enrolled in business school and earned my university degrees.

I did not know who I am, what I am doing, where I am going! Until my elementary school days’ passion for English writing showed up again.

And I am who I am now…

This is not to confuse you or distract you. This is to say that we all start differently and become better each day.

Your journey in life was never fixed or solid. Every skill, task, passion, hobby, or experience has molded you into a better version of yourself today.

You might think, why all this? Shouldn’t I have decided from the beginning and stuck to my plan?

But could we have known all we know today, and act deliberately and intentionally, with complete confidence?

I must say, it’s most likely doubted.

However, poet William Wordsworth wrote, "The Child is father of the Man" in his 1802 poem, "My Heart Leaps Up," suggesting that childhood emotions shape adult personality.

This is to remind you not to abandon the child in you. This is your true self, and as the writing child in me brought you this newsletter, so should the inquisitive child in you draw your path that must be paved meticulously with awareness and honest intention.

Long story short, your plan in life is never missed. The train that took off yesterday was just a memory and a learning milestone.

Your biggest dream is still waiting for you to achieve.

But remember, your dream will become a reality you couldn’t have dreamed of. Because what’s in the mind is just a thought, and the true manifestation of a dream is a goal that is practically planned and grounded in the existentiality of your current environment, situation, and available opportunities.

Hence, your best self-actualization is built on reasonable judgment and understanding. And decisions that bear fruit when you think with a calm and clear mind, somewhere away from the chaos of ordinary life and its confusing urgencies.

I hope this letter slowly motivates you, and until next week, I wish you the best 😊

With love,
